2.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:

- Company name and team size
- Password (stored in hashed form only)
- Billing information (processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers)
2.2 Employee Monitoring Data
When the desktop agent is active (during voluntary clock-in sessions only), we collect:
- Screenshots: Periodic screen captures at configurable intervals. Optional Gaussian blur can be applied to protect sensitive content.
- Activity levels: Aggregate counts of keyboard, mouse, and scroll activity (we do NOT record individual keystrokes, typed content, or passwords)
- Application usage: Names of active applications and time spent in each
- Website visits: Domain-level URLs visited during work sessions (not full page URLs or page content)
- Clock-in/out times: Session start and end timestamps with IP address
- Idle periods: Duration of inactivity detected by the system
2.3 What We Do NOT Collect
- Individual keystrokes or typed content
- Passwords or form field data
- Clipboard content
- Audio or video recordings
- Any data outside of voluntary clock-in sessions
- Personal files or documents
- Camera or microphone input
2.4 Website Visitor Data
When you visit moniterix.com, we may collect standard analytics data including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and referring URL through privacy-respecting analytics tools.
3. How We Use Your Information

4. Data Storage & Security

5. Data Retention
Monitoring data (screenshots, activity logs, etc.) is retained according to your plan's data retention period:
- Starter: 30 days
- Business: 90 days
- Enterprise: Custom (up to unlimited)
After the retention period, data is automatically and permanently deleted. Account information is retained for the duration of your active subscription plus 30 days after cancellation.
6. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information or monitoring data to third parties. We may share data only in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers: Cloud hosting (AWS), payment processing, and email delivery services that are contractually bound to protect your data
- Legal requirements: When required by law, subpoena, or government request
- Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with advance notice to affected users)
7. Employee Rights & Transparency
We believe in transparent monitoring. Employees whose activity is tracked through Moniterix:
- Must be informed by their employer that monitoring software is in use
- Can view their own monitoring data, screenshots, and activity reports
- Are only tracked during voluntary clock-in sessions
- Have complete privacy during off-hours (no data collected when clocked out)
8. Cookies
Our website uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. We use privacy-respecting analytics that do not require cookie consent banners. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
